Dancing Styles
Salsa
Salsa dance originated in Eastern Cuba and is a popular style of dance in many communities around the world. Latin American Salsa styles include Cuban, Puerto Rican, and Cali Colombia. American dancing styles include- the LA Style and the NY Style. Salsa dancing socials are generally held in ballrooms, nightclubs, and outdoor festivals. Salsa is one of the most rewarding dance styles you can learn. At Madmax Academy of Dance, we provide Salsa lessons for all levels – Level 1, Level 2, and Intermediate.
Bachata
Bachata style of dance originates from the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean. It has been evolving for several decades. Current Bachata variants include Traditional, Modern, Bacha tango, Romantica, and the most popular form – Sensual Bachata. Sensual Bachata is mostly danced on pop remix numbers, where the focus is more on Body Movements & less footwork (However, that’s not the Original style of Bachata).
Kizomba
Kizomba originated in the southern African country of Angola in the late 1970s. The word ‘Kizomba’ means party. It is a slow, smooth, and sensual dance form with frequent concurrent hip rotations between the dance partners. Kizomba has gained immense popularity in Portugal, Paris & other European regions, also spreading like a rave in all Asian Countries.
Urban Kiz
The ‘Kiz’ in Urban Kiz indicates that it is derived from Kizomba, but has an urban touch. It’s an evolution of Traditional Kizomba, where the focus is more on the interpretation of musicality & building the best connection with the partner. Urban Kiz dance style is spreading fast all over the world and is currently very popular in the US, Canada, Europe, Russia, and Asia.
